Umbuzada

Umbuzada, also called imbuzada, is a typical drink from northeastern Brazil (namely in Bahia), prepared with the fruit of the umbuzeiro (umbu or imbu). Umbuzada is not a drink that everyone can enjoy, as it has a slightly acidic taste. Check out the Specialfood umbuzada recipe below and try it!

Ingredients for making Umbuzada:

 1 kilogram of umbu

 2 cups of cold milk

2 cups of sugar (320 grams)

 Water

How to make Umbuzada:

To prepare the sertaneja umbuzada, start by washing the umbus. Then cook them in a pan with water until covered, over medium heat, until they change color. Turn off the heat and let cool.

Remove the stone from the umbus and blend the pulp in a blender together with the sugar and milk, until obtaining a very homogeneous liquid. If you like, then go through a strainer.

Reserve the umbuzada in the refrigerator for and serve it well chilled. Tell us what you think of this recipe and bon appetit!
