Recipe Cassava Gnocchi
Gnocchi is a type of soft noodle that can be prepared with vegetables other than the traditional potato. To prove it, on Specialfood we present a gnocchi with a Brazilian flavor: the cassava gnocchi! Check out the preparation below and be sure to try this easy pasta recipe!
Ingredients for making cassava Gnocchi:
500 grams of cassava
1 cup of wheat flour (140 grams)
1 egg unit
2 tablespoons of butter
50 grams of grated cheese (optional)
salt
How to make cassava Gnocchi:
To prepare the manioc gnocchi, the first thing to do is to peel the manioc, cut it into pieces and cook it in a pan with water over medium heat. Drain when the cassava is very soft and let it warm.
Add the egg, butter and, if you like, the cheese to the cassava, crush and mix everything very well, in order to obtain a puree. Season with salt to taste.
The next step for cassava gnocchi is to transfer the mixture to a smooth, floured surface and add the flour, little by little, while kneading. The ideal is to obtain a smooth dough that comes off, so it may not be necessary to use all the flour, or use more.
Divide the dough into four parts, roll and cut small pieces of gnocchi, as in the photograph. Cook in a pan over medium heat with boiling water, and remove as they rise to the surface.
After the previous step, your manioc gnocchi is cooked and ready to serve! Serve as pasta, accompanied by an abundant sauce of your choice. Tell us what you think, and bon appetit!
